Strengths And Weaknesses Of Presidential Government

Introduction Presidential government is in the form which the president is elected directly by the people and is the chief executive of the country (The Presidential System, 2016). The presidential system of government is used across the globe. The most talked about presidential government is probably that of the USA. The first presidential election in the USA is recorded in 1789 (Staff, 2010). The residential government in the United States is split into three branches; the president and his cabinet, Congress and the courts (Smith, 2016). This essay will examine the key strengths and weaknesses of Presidential government. (Teacher, 2013). This is a strength of presidential government because it means that the president has more control over his cabine t as the public has said that they want him to be their direct leader. This also provides more stability of government as there is clear who is the leader and who is in charge which helps the president keep everyone in check and make sure that the government is getting the job done. This is a strength of presidential government as it provides the people with a stable view of their government. Paragraph 3 The president is directly elected then leads to a stable government. In this system, the president has a fixed term in government and cannot be removed through a vote of no-confidence (Publish Your Articles, 2015). This means that the president is only allowed to be in office for a certain number of years. After each term is up a new mandate needs to run to decide who will replace the president in the next term or if the president will continue to serve in office for another term. ‘As a result of this feature, anybody interested in the presidency, patiently waits for his or her turn to have a shot at it.’ (Virtual Kollage, 2016).
